2:45 Mid Monday Afternoon (17 August 2009)   Have I Mentioned I Hate My Job? I like the idea of this job. I like the idea of the experiment. But the fact that it's not working and I have no shit clue what anyone's talking about 99% of the time and every time I get up the gumption to get in and do something I falter and go hide again. I don't want to be in the lab anymore, I want to be in the field, or actually doing something with the science that's been done to make the world a better place. anyway. Yesterday Caleb's bestie from NZ arrived. He's been doing Camp America this summer and on his way to NZ from Camp he's made a week-long pit stop in L-town. We took him to Lagoon yesterday after the airport, thinking it would be pretty empty, what with it being a Sunday and all...but no. it was crazy packed with people and even the lamest rides had line waits of 30 minutes or more. Sara went with us and lent us her free parking pass and some coupons to get cheaper tickets..and then someone randomly gave us a free ticket in so that was pretty cool. I can't complain too much about the lines because We did get to ride all of the most awesome coasters. Also we went on this swings-type ride where everyone gets in an airplane with a movable sail, and we got up and swinging in the air and apparently everyone got so crazy with their sails that the ride started going out of control. It was scary shit, we all held our sails still and waited, swinging in the air, for the ride to regain balance. So...score one for adrenaline cos the ride ended up not breaking and so the fright ended up being fun. after being there for 7 hours we decided to go home. We took Sara to her house and got dinner at an all-night diner and drove home. Caleb's friend snored in the back and I wished I wasn't driving so I could take a nap too. But Caleb and I talked and I sang songs to myself so it wasn't hard to stay awake, I just don't like driving at night for any serious length of time. My parents are out of town so I've been staying nights at their house to make sure...I don't know, that my sister is ok and the cats are alright. Caleb and I brought our cat over to my parents' so he wouldn't get lonely at our house - so he is there too. The guest bedroom at my parents' house is missing the mattress because my folks gave it to Caleb and me, so Caleb's friend didn't have anywhere comfortable to sleep at my parents'. Caleb and his friend spent the night at our house and so I was lonely last night but the cat slept on the bed and snuggled with me so it wasn't all bad. I feel kind of bad for our friend, Logan doesn't really have the most happenin' of a night life, is not a tourist attraction and doesn't have any tourist attractions, mostly only has chain shopping, and can't be considered a microcosm of America. I don't really know what we can do as entertainment for the next week. ah well.
