10:08 Mid Wednesday Night   Patriotism I think the constitution is, for the most part, a grand piece of paper. The rights I'm allowed in the first ten amendments are absolutely fantastic. It sort of pains me to think that we are a nation based on a war, but what nation isn't, really? Sigh. I wish that war wasn't such an intrinsic part of human civilisation. I'm afraid I don't see the point. I have to say that I don't understand why we can't share land or accept people who are different than us. We are all the same inside, right? We all have bones and blood and lungs. we all get sick and we all get sad and a lot of us occasionally feel happy. I don't know. I just don't get it. Today, there are people who say "if you don't love america, leave it." Which is a ridiculous way of parading your "patriotism" around and showing the rest of us how ignorant you are. Just because I don't personally think that everything Bush says is equivalent to the bible doesn't mean I'm a terrorist. i'm sorry, it doesn't. It pleases me that more and more americans are feeling this way, but there are those few...Sigh. I just don't feel that violence is the best way to solve conflict. And I don't think that I'm unpatriotic for feeling that way.
