Feeling: torn
11:59 Late Wednesday Morning   Home Sweet Home? Well. San Francisco was great that night we got there, what with the homeless people begging for change and sleeping in doorways and the delicious meal we got at a chinese restaurant with the very nice waitress who thought we were slothful gluttonous pigs, i'm sure. The fog was pouring in and I had such high hopes, The fountain was beautiful and the UN civic centre was inspiring. It sort of went downhill from there. the next three days were pleasantly warm, sunny, a little windy. Sunday was interesting, we walked all over San Fran and got very little accomplished. Monday, it was just my sister and my mom and I because Dad was at meetings. We had fun. There were lots of stores that all sold the same things. There were very tall buildings. There were a lot of people. Tuesday, our last day...Dad got mad at me because I didn't want to go on a bike ride to the Golden Gate Bridge (He really wanted to exercise and I was like...no). Apparently Mom was appreciative because she wasn't about to tell Dad she didn't want to even though she didn't. So Chels, Mom, and I went to this thing called the Exploratorium and I got a lot of exercise for my brain. It was AMAZING! I spent too long at each of the stations, though, because I ran out of time and didn't get to play with everything. I felt like a 6-year-old, and it was amazing. so dad went on a big long walk almost to the golden gate bridge and felt better because he got to exercise. then we went to the airport and got on a plane and my sister and I got along and it was a good family holiday. I would totally go back to San Fran just for the Exploratorium. Maybe I will have kids. We won't go to Disney Land. We will go to the Discovery Centre in SLC and the Exploratorium in San Fran and all of the other cool science interactive fun things. depending, of course, on whatever future offspring I have's interests. Other than the Exploratorium, however, I got really tired of so much tourism and ...well...i was disappointed that we never got to walk around in the rain. I was hoping for Fog. Also, San Francisco is basically Sydney, Australia only San Francisco has the island for its prisoners and Australia WAS an island for prisoners. I so much prefer Portland. maybe i'm biased. maybe i'm pickier than I thought. I miss caleb. :( 2 and a half weeks though, then i'll get to see all my friends!! :)

There's nothing wrong with Sydney! I love it here! Haha. Yes, we might all be a country of convicts and migrants, but hey, it's personality building! Oh I have to tell you about it now. The area in the CBD called The Rocks is basically where the first convicts settled. But its beautiful. They've kept alot of the original stone work, the cobblestones.. Its one of my favourite places to visit. And all the buildings have these really interesting-
- stories behind them. Like, Sydney Hospital's first nurses were ex-prostitutes, sent out here from England in the late 1700's. My great (x5?) Grandfather came out here as a free settler in 1843, leaving his wife and children back in England, and started up a new life and family. What scum! To his merit, he DID build a really nice church. Ah. Australian history is so twisted.
ohhh, what did you eat at the chinese restaurant? a friend of mine got invited to someone's prom and the first thing i asked him as, "what did you eat?!!"
