Feeling: exhausted
5:26 Queensland Time, Friday Afternoon   Rotting Kangaroos and extra "r"s I'm in Alice Springs which is in the Northern Territory of Oz, half a timezone behind Queensland (...half an hour? Who does half-an-hour timezones. seriously). My mum's wanted to come here for 20 years or something so here we are. yay. It's bigger than I thought it would be. It's about half the size of my little home city. But a lot more expensive and tourist-ridden. Probably because it's in the middle of Australia and all the tourists come here in busses to go to see giant rocks and termite mounds larger than busses and kangaroos dead on the road and emus and even live kangaroos and camels (yes. they have camels in Oz, I was surprised...but then again I'm an ignorant American so what do I know?) and Aboriginal art and didjeridoos(we bought two today to ship home, it was cool, I can sort of play them...just not continuously or very well at all) and all sorts of interesting things you can only find in The Outback. They say it's the closest to all the Australian beaches, and I suppose being in the smack dab centre of the country, it IS. yay for Alice Springs. woo. Tomorrow we're taking a train to Adelaide, renting a car, and driving to Sydney where we will stay until we fly to Nadi, Fiji, and boat out to our little David Island or something which is a little island with no electricity in the huts you sleep in, but no matter, because those stars are going to be so amazingly beautiful with no light pollution...and sunsets/rises on the beach...Wow. I can't wait. And then I go home. and then it's another 6 months until I see Caleb. He e-mails me regularly and they're actually INTERESTING e-mails. yay!

oz people do half-a-timezones, being as they are ozzed most of the time.
whoohoo! sounded like you had a pretty good time

i admire the fact that you can look forward to a place with no electricity. Go you!!

anyway, have fun!!
ahaha! a town like alice!

My friend has a didgeridoo. I made up that spelling; if it's wrong, there's no need to correct me. I've never heard him play it but I dont think he'd be good at it.
