So far analysis of vacation:

Sat, Sept 3 - Arrive in CA. Go to JapanTown in San Jose. Eat Japanese. Drive in forever traffic to Monetery/Seaside CA. See and touch ocean. Drive on infamous 17-Mile-Drive. See and touch more ocean and living creatures. Collect shells. Gotta collect the shells.

Sun, Sept 4 - Church. Drive in nasty traffic to San Franisciso. Drive across Golden Gate in fog. Ooh and Aahh. Pay $6 and drive back across the bridge. Oohh and Aah. Go to crappy hotel. Refuse to swim or eat there. Play and sleep in hotel.

Mon, Sept 5 - Go to China Town in San Fran. Shop, smell, taste, see and buy things. Go to Pier 33/Fishermans Wharf. Eat at Wipe Out Bar and Grill. Pizza. mmm Go back to Monterey/Seaside.

Tue, Sept 6 - Go shopping and library with Min. Get dropped off at Fishermans Wharf in Monterey and rent kayaks. Kayaking the Monterey Bay from 1:30 to 5pm. Saw starfish, jellyfish, crabs, so many birds, otter, seal, and sea lions. Totally cool. Get sore and sunburnt. Eat Jack-In-The-Box food. Walk around Fishermans Wharf. Go home and eat dessert, nice long shower/bath, bedtime.

Dear Journal,

Today was totally awesome! Usually my vacations are totally rushed and you only see one place once and not for very long (kinda like San Fran was), but now I get like 4 days of the same place where I can go as many times as I want and see what I want and take my time!

Today we went kayaking on the ocean at the bay in Monterey and saw living creatures in clear water and heard/saw the seals and sea lions covering the rocks. It was cool to be so close and even touch some of them! It was such a nice day too! They tell me about the fog and how its always covering the sun and the wind is so cold, but today the fog lifted and I could actually see the ocean out a bit and the sun was out while kayaking. Thus I got a lil' unintended sunburn, but still. It was fun to just be with the boy and do what we wanted for awhile.

Then I got to try Jack-in-the-Box food which I gobbled down from being on the water for so long. Then we walked around Fishermans Wharf and saw more crabs and jellyfish, even some fish. It was kinda fun to sit and watch the crabs move. We went to the observation deck and looked at the Whale Watching tours. It was gettng dark and cold and I was still kinda wet from the kayak so we went home after that and ate some dessert before bedtime. I took a nice long shower/bath and now its bedtime. Mmm. A good day.

Now, what shall we do morrow?
