Feeling: reminiscent

Happy Bday to the one and only sister I got so therefore she is deemed my favorite! You are also deemed the overachiever of the family and therefore prolly the parents favorite too!

Turning 31 this year, how does that make you feel? considering you still look 25 and when you were 25 you looked like you were 20 or something.

So looking at your life... growing up in those two houses in the little valley, born and raised, doing the 'right thing' going off to college and prolly following yer mothers pressures to go abroad because it would be a 'good thing for you' which landed you in Canada for an experience of a lifetime I'm sure you are grateful for (mother does that a lot). Then coming back and dating the boring engineers and then moving on to their brothers til you fell in love, waited for him to come back from a mission, tried your mothers tactics in pressuring some one to do a 'good thing' and married the boy.

Then that boy turned things around on you and decided moving to SLC would be a 'good thing' which landed you in SLC for the next 7-8 years in which you accumulated many apartment experiences, lots of college debt with no educational accomplishments to show for it via husbands exploring his options, church friends, callings, and activities, neighbors that seemed to be around all the time, lots of bargain/sale opportunities in your shopping endeavors, tax fixes to satisfy your craving each year became a regular in your schedule also, many relatives close by where you felt cursed at times and grateful at others, a sister that you never understood but yet needed in times of insanity, and of course the two boys and a dog who alone were little/big adventures in your life.

To the sister who ignored me half my life because I was the spoiled, button pusher, annoying little sister.

To the sister who had the exact same twin pink and whtie polka dot dress as me complete with polka dotted hair bow.

To the sister who flew out of the garage in reverse and into the neighbors garage when learning how to drive.

To the sister who attempted to help me learn math and didnt kill me when I didn't get it.

To the sister who married the right guy.

To the girl who panics when she does something wrong, or thinks she has.

To the girl who doesn't understand dirty jokes, some humor and flirting.

To the mother who raised the creative kids (with all the technology I think we're brainwashing any hopes of creativity in our kids nowadays)

To a kind, giving, loving, sacrificing, somewhat empathetic and understanding woman.

To the girl whose hurt me real bad at times and loved me the most when I needed it.

To the sister who could prolly still beat up her brothers.

To the mother who threatens to sit on her children at times and fires them at others.

To the mother who finds simple joys in life with her children.

To the mother who finances, bargains, balances, and knows a good sale when she sees one.

To the daughter that made her parents grandparents and stole my spotlight away as a result.

To the sister who hugs me super hard and her eyes kinda bug out when she is stressed or even frustrated with me.

To the sister who took advantage of the free babysitting given from family members.

To prolly the only girl who truly thinks her husband is funny...

For the sister that I will always love, forever, unconditionally.

Happy Birthday Mindy.

"I'm smiling because your my sister. I'm laughing because there's nothing you can do about it!"
