Feeling: poetic
fAtHeR's DaY! Dear Father, You are a peculiar man. And I love you for it. You deserve the world. I wish I could give it to you. Love, Your Daughter So we went to the Summer Fest yesterday (Saturday). Dad, of course, went through the whole festival within 15 minutes (however long it takes to walk around the block) and came back to Mother and I to inform us he was done and wanted to go home. Although, the only thing he did point out to us, that he noticed, was the Laser Light stand with images etched in a hunk of glass and shown with a laser light going through it. That was the only thing he said about the Festival. Mother and I were taking our time and actually looking at the art. Mainly it was painting, drawings, photos and some pottery. Who knew art -only- consisted of pictures and pottery? I found about 3 pictures I would die for. But only one of those 3 would I kill for. I had to have it. It was only... $645... just this semesters tuition...! It was of leaves...and they were in like lines and then they were colored like a rainbow..ooh I loved it. I love leaves. I love line pictures. I love rainbows. The rest of the time I was looking for leaf pictures/paintings. I found a few I wanted. But none compared to that expensive one. Mother and I finally finished looking around and went to find Father. He was sitting in front of the old time music with Stephen (the new proctor kid). I had brought my own car so Mother, Father and Stephen left for home after that. And I, I went back to the laser light stand. I got a temple etched inside a chunk of glass but I didn't get the laser light - which was the point of Fathers fasination. I felt bad. But the Logan temple was $15 and thas all I had. But the laser lights were boring for another $10. It was just one white color shooting up, almost like shining a flashlight on it. So I only got half the gift. Later that day I was shopping with Loryn and Dallin at the mall and we went to Asian Gifts and found some cooler laser lights. Ones with many colors and spins around. So Dallin and Loryn bought him the second half of the gift. The actual cool part. The lasers shining through the glass. It hadn't occured to me that I didn't have to get him a temple, I could've gotten him a horse or something non-religious at Asian Gifts... But I figgered you wouldn't find temples so easily (and I liked it) so I went with religious figurine. He can always buy others for under $10. We set it up that night and showed Mother. She said he'd like it. I really hoped he'd like it. Like it was unusually important to me that he'd like it. (I started my period on Saturday) Cuz he likes expensive electronics and I can't keep up with technology let alone be able to pay for it. So this was as...good as it gets for now. He really deserves..everything his kids could possibly give him. Today we gave it to him one piece at a time. He got it all out and plugged it all in and watched it spin with all the colors through the temple. We turned out the lights and closed the curtains so he could see. Needless to say he stared at it for about an hour all mesmorized. While we sat in the dark chatting and watching Father be entranced by a small light show. He said he knew just where he would put it. Then he got out his optic flower he got for Mother awhile back. All of his technological advanced lights to show us his collection. The optical flower was kinda broken tho. By the time he was done showing it off he had managed to burn a hole in Mothers pillow and come out with a suicide cord. (plug the cord in and throw the lose, exposed wires into the tub = most common way to commit harry carry) Thas my Father. ::smiles nervously:: Mindy called while he was watching. Thus there was not much conversation from him except only to explain his gift to his other daughter over the phone (quite difficult). So Mother took over the phone so Father could use his free hand to get his camera and take pictures and movies of his spinning light show. (He'll take pictures of -everything- even his meal/food) For an expensive inpulse buy a day before Fathers Day... I say we did good. Needless to say, I think he liked it.
