Lucky Are We

Weekends are particularly special (and busy) for me when I go home because I've got two families fighting for time together. K and I are lucky enough to have families that like both of us and each other, but they also loving spending time with us and the others' family and we're very fortunate for that. I'm super tired and it's really hard to write coherently right now, so here's the weekend in a weak sum: Friday night K and I went to Saguaro for the Jazz and Jester'Z concert. The jazz band sounded really good and I got an interview with Booster President, Bob, to do a stand-alone for the paper. After that we went with the Miller clan to Cocoas, a traditional place for them. So that was really fun. Saturday...bell rehearsal, hair cut, and a late dinner with Helen at the Satisfied Frog. Talked about spring break and the house, two slightly uncomfortable conversations due to recent events with her and Andrew and a third party K and I aren't in favor of. At any rate, it was nice to spend time with her and the food was really good. After that we went back to my house where mom was throwing a party for a bunch of work people. She did a lot of preparation and made a new centerpiece, had the chafing dishes with appetizers, a really nice and expensive cake, candles, chotchkees, the whole nine yards and everything and only four people came! I felt so bad for her! Two more people came later, but they don't count in my book because they weren't there for very long. But I felt really bad because so many people had said they were coming and she did all that work. : ( Sunday morning...early to rise for bells and church, went home and Jackie, Tim, Mackenzie and the dogs came over for brunch, which was really cool and a nice surprise. I love my niece sooo much! I never want to let her alone! But of course I do because I'm not 13 and I understand where the limits are. But I was a good aunt and changed her diaper. lol Anyway, a bit later, my parents and K and I met my aunt and uncle to see Wild Hogs--it was really funny and special to us since my uncle rides a Harley. Good movie and we had fun! Afterwards we all went home for spaghetti and meatballs, a nice walk around the block, talk, and lots of time with Kenzie! But now it's Sunday night...such sweet sorrow...School tomorrow. Off to bed, then. xoxo Carrie
