Ωκεανό Tale Chapter 47

Feeling: tired
His eyes stared at the spot as she disappeared off the pier. Racing to the edge, he looked down at the racing waves and felt his control slipping. All he could focus on was watching his people bring her up into view and then her body being ripped apart by that beam. He had seen pure fear in her eyes when the woman exposed the weapon and now she was gone. "You should've listened to her." He looked over his shoulder and heard the woman laughing. She threw people aside and searched the crowd. He let out a growl and pushed his way toward her. "There you are." He stopped walking and said "Get the hell out of here." Úna smiled and asked "Did I kill your precious princess?" His eyes narrowed to a dangerous brown and the witch laughed. She slowly looked back at him and smiled. "Like mother like daughter." "I'll kill you." Úna laughed again and asked "With that? Your only chance was that woman I shoved back into the ocean." His hands curled into fists and he heard people whispering behind him. "Quit cowering you idiots!" The whispering stopped and everyone stared at him. "You brought this on yourselves, now deal with her." "They're too scared." He looked back at the witch and said "I don't care. You either leave or I will kill you." Úna continued to laugh and he pulled a sword from a nearby guard. The crowd let out a gasp and stepped back. "Tsk tsk. You're letting your pain control your emotions." "Shut up." Úna smiled and said "I bet you'd give anything to be with that lovely woman." "I said shut up." "Poor thing sold herself to me just to save you a year ago. I'd think you wouldn't do something foolish." "She what?" The witch smiled again. She could see the shock in his eyes and chuckled to herself. "That's right. The princess felt bad for all of you, knowing I'd come wipe you out. She sold herself to me when we struck a deal." "One year to save us?" She nodded and said "One year and if she failed she was mine." His hand tightened on the sword hilt and he let out a curse. He had known his people were in danger for a long time. He didn't have the passion to take care of them like his father. That had disappeared a long time ago. "Poor Sile knew if she gave her life up for you, then the curse would hold off for another ten years." "Curse?" Úna approached him and said "I visited this place when you were born." "That's why you came after us." She nodded and said "Yes, but then those meddling idiots got involved and Sile gave her life to protect you for another ten years." He stared back at her without a sound and she expected to see his temper snap. Instead a cold calm took over and he fixed her with a deadly look. "I told you to leave." Úna stared at him in shock and found the man unbelievable. Knowing the truth to his parents' death didn't even faze him. "I have work to be done here." "Your work is finished." He lifted the sword from his side and the witch watched him turn his gaze back on her. She grabbed the weapon and raised it. They met, staff vs sword, and the sound clashed through the air. He left her arm cut open and jumped back as she swung for him. The staff swung through air and she let out a growl. "Foolish idiot! I will kill you!" He raised his sword and said "Try." She lunged for him and the staff was blocked by his sword. He stepped back and knocked her off balance. The woman let out a cry of frustration and he circled around her. She smirked and he felt some of the people behind him grab him. The sword was knocked out of his grasp and kicked to her. "I told you I'd kill you." He felt his people wrap tighter holds around him and glared back at the witch. Úna smirked and looked back at the people. "No one will be stopping me. This is the end for all of you ungrateful souls." "They won't give in to you." She laughed and asked "Who could possibly stop me?" "Me." The voice drew the attention to the crowd and they watched the people step aside. Slowly they revealed the blonde woman and her eyes were cold blue.
