[55.] As you lay in bed at night, I'll be there in your drea

Shawn pulled Jamie into his bed; she was shivering, as he slid her wet clothes off of her body. “Let me warm you up,” he laughed, as he wrapped his arms tightly around Jamie. With the help of his bed sheets, she stopped shivering and began kissing him. It felt natural for her to take off his clothes, and to kiss him non-stop; quickly, and skipping breaths. Jamie pulled Shawn on top of her, and let what was held off so long, to occur. It was their first time, for both of them, even for Shawn, because this was different, this wasn’t sex, this was love. When it was over, they lay beside each other, tired, and drifting off to sleep. A sleep deeper than they have ever experienced. For the first time in years, Shawn dreamt. It was in his vision that him and Jamie wed, that Brian never existed. That Jamie and him had several children, in a beautiful white house. The dream felt like he had died and went to heaven, all his wishes came true. He kept seeing Jamie’s face, older, smiling, then laughing. Happy together for the rest of their lives. His dream was so blissful, he felt like crying; a time when nothing can hurt him, nobody can touch him. His eyes awakened, confronting early morning, it was raining, and his heart felt like it was beating so quickly, as if it might erupt. He felt so delighted, so excited to tell Jamie his wonderful dream. He turned on his side, confronting her back. He touched her cold shoulder. “Jamie. Jamie! Wake up!” He shook her a little harder, but she didn’t budge. “Jamie…” He got out of bed and went to the other side to look her in the face. When he saw her, all he could concentrate on was her white face. “JAMIE!” He screamed, he shrieked her name, louder than he had ever used before. “Jamie, wake up!” He got up and immediately slid all the glass objects off the table, screeching as the precious crystal and expensive objects crashed into the floor. He ran to her side, “Jamie, it’s not funny anymore! It’s not funny! Stop it!” It was then, as the words left his mouth, that he smacked her across the face, letting her cheek expose the red blood which leaked out of it. He stood, shocked, “Jamie, I’m sorry,” he grabbed her head and hugged her, “I’m sorry, wake up…” He was bawling, “It’s not funny,” his voice was coarse and low from screaming. He felt himself shake as he dialed 911… he fainted as he whispered for an ambulance.
