[43.] And maybe I'm crazy. But I just can't slow down.

Jamie pulled her window up, revealing the cool summer breeze. “Shawn, what are you doing here?” “Jamie…” Shawn whispered. He laughed a little bit as he took some of her hair and put it behind her ear. “I know it’s late…” Jamie giggled, “Shawny, its 4:00 in the morning.” She grabbed his face in her hands, “Are you alright?” Shawn smiled, “Yeah, I just wanted to know if you wanted to come with me.” “My parents will kill me.” She said, while getting a jacket. “But whatever.” She smiled. Shawn loved the way she didn’t even ask where he was going to take her. He knew that she knew that it didn’t matter. She crawled out of the window as they hopped down to the ground. They held hands as they sat on the beach, its waves low and discreet. Jamie’s head was placed onto Shawn’s chest, as they looked at the ocean and it’s never ending waves; feeling the soft prickle of saltwater on their cheeks. “Shawn, are you okay?” Shawn took a deep breath and leaned into kiss Jamie, but for the first time, she pulled away. “Shawn, don’t.” “What?” Shawn replied. “Don’t change the subject. What’s wrong? You haven’t been yourself lately. At all. Is something bothering you?” Shawn let out an exhale of laughter, “I was just trying to kiss you and you just think there’s something wrong with me?” “Sha-” “Way to ruin a perfect moment.” Jamie's face immediatly, as if for the first time, grimaced. "Shawn... what's your problem?" She stood, and just like that, she walked all the way home.
