[29.] If I never came back, would you miss me?

"Where do you wanna go, gorgeous?" Shawn's sparkly eyes met Jamie's. "Hmm... just drive and we'll figure it out when we get there." Shawn obeyed and they drove for a while, turning unexpectidly, reaching dead ends and turning back. Jamie was staring at Shawn for a long period of time. Her deep brown eyes bored into his glistening ones. Shawn continued driving on the black gravel before looking to her. "Can I help you?" He smiled, tempted to look at her, but knowing he had to keep his eyes on the road. Jamie giggled, she continued to examine his perfect features, his dark brown eyes, and his messy hair, the speckles of brown dotted onto his tanned cheek. He was entirely different from all the others. Shawn began to wonder what Jamie had been thinking about. He looked to her for a split second, attempting to figure out her mind, but... nothing. Jamie smiled and realized what he was doing. She stopped admiring him, and ripped her eyes away from him, confronting the radio. Jamie giggled deviously and switched it on. She began turning the radio stations for a decent song, until she fell upon "Naked and Famous" by The Presidents of the United States of America. "I met a poet, said she didn't like the smell of it then took her clothes off in a restaurant for the hell of it" "LEAVE IT! I LOVE THIS SONG!" Yelled Shawn, excitidly, quickly increasing the volume. "Oh my god, me too!" Jamie screamed with the same intensity as Shawn. "Are you serious?!" Shawn looked to her. "No! I've never heard it before!" Jamie laughed, trying to be heard over the loud music. "Sing with me!" Yelled Shawn. "Everybody wants to be naked and famous, Everybody wants to be just like me I'm naked And famous!" He yelled. "I CAN'T SING A SONG I DON'T KNOW, DUMMY!” shrieked Jamie over the speakers, laughing insanely. “TRY!” said Shawn, inbetween lyrics. He reached and slipped his hand into hers, their fingers fitting together perfectly, gaffawing until the end of the song. Shawn’s fingers squeezed between Jamie’s, while she squeezed back harder. The radio continued with a commercial break, as Shawn continued to nowhere. Jamie reached over, changing the stations again. “When it's over, That's the time I fall in love again, And when it's over...” Jamie exhaled, “Ahh... I love this song...” Jamie leaned her head back, closing her eyes, falling into the song. Shawn smiled, remembering distant memories, while making a left turn. “I do too.” “Seriously?” Jamie opened her eyes. “Yup...” “You’re the first person I ever met that’s ever liked Sugar Ray.” Shawn laughed, looking back in his rear-view mirror, then to Jamie, “Same here, beautiful.” Shawn leaned into her, holding her hand and singing with a large smile on his face, “That's the time you're in my heart again, And when you go go go go, I know, And it never ends, It never ends...” Jamie’s heart rate increased quickly as her cheeks burned vermillion. She sang with him at the chorus line, both their voices happy and blaring. “I'm missing you, I never knew how much she'd loved me, I'm missing you, I never knew how much you meant to me.” The song ended, but their voices carried on.
