[24.] Like the beginning.

Nathan had spent the day with Shawn, before they sat on Shawn's porch, drinking beer. It had been silent, except for the chirping crickets and the distant sound of cars. After a large gulp of beer, Nathan spoke, finally, breaking the unawkward silence. "So, you and my sister?" Shawn choked a little, covering it up with laughter. "Heh. Yeah... we're going out." Nathan smiled, pleased. He would rather have someone he could trust, like Shawn, instead of some pervert like Adam. He knew Shawn would never hurt her. "Are you mad?" Shawn took another swing of beer, wincing at it's sour taste. He worried about the answer. "Of course not, man." Nathan slapped Shawn's hand, giving him the signal that it was all good. Shawn relaxed, glad that Nathan approved of him. "You hurt her, and I'll kill you." Nathan laughed, taking his last sip of beer. Shawn laughed easily, "I promise." Like selling your soul to the devil.
