[22.] It's called love.

The party was overall, fun. But Jamie was... nowhere in sight. Shawn had stopped searching for her when he concluded she wasn't home. He was obsessing, but it was concealed through conversation and laughter. Damien was standing next to him in a small group of high school friends in the process of reuniting. As Damien was telling a story about a random, but funny event, Shawn's eyes found their territory. Jamie was coming in through the front door, laughing with a blonde friend of hers, which he recognized to the one he saw through Jamie's closet. Damien's story was over, but the laughter that erupted from the crowd didn't phase Shawn at all. Jamie was giggling with her blonde friend as they walked in the direction of the kitchen. She smiled her smile, after hearing a joke that made Shawn's body shiver. Then suddenly, Jamie's eyes felt the heat of Shawn's eyes, and looked to him. She smiled large, excited to see him, waving in his direction, shyly, before slipping into the kitchen. A mouth came to Shawn's ear. "You know her?" Damien's voice sounded strange. "That's Jamie." "Godamn... she's-" "Beyond words." Finished Shawn. Later, after Jamie was upstairs with a few friends, Shawn went outside, sitting on the front steps. He was still slowly drinking the first beer he took from hours ago. He set it aside him, and stared at the full, yellow moon. The night was hot, with the stars brightening the sky. It was a perfect night to fall in love. "Hey." Shawn didn't have to look at Jamie to recognize her voice. "Hey." He looked to her. She stood with a drink in her hand, a plastic cup of beer. She wrapped her arm around an arch and leaned against it. "It's a pretty sexy night." Shawn laughed at her drunkness. "Yeah. You could say that." She giggled. "No... it's gorgeous." She took a sip of beer and looked to the sky again, the stars illuminating her face. "Not as gorgeous as you are." Shawn said, but immediatly regretted after it was said. Jamie looked to him, smiling. "That's really sweet." As if she didn't know. Shawn laughed. "But you'll forget in the morning so I can say that." He smiled at her. She giggled. "So I like you." Jamie said, simply after a few seconds. "But I can say it because you'll forget in the morning." She giggled, sweetly, drinking a little more. She turned, and began to walk inside. Shawn immediatly held his arm out, grabbing her legs. She fell in his lap, with her arm falling around his neck, her drink was in her hand, still unspilled. And she was smiling. Shawn's heart was beating insanely fast. He put his palms on either side of her face, near her eyes, bringing her face close, analyzing her face. He found what he was looking for. The place in her eyes. "You're not drunk, are you?" Jamie smiled innocently, holding her drink in front of his face. "Apple juice." She said, as guilty as possible. Shawn was laughing. It was apple juice. "She's serious. She likes me." His thoughts revolved around his head. He pulled her smiling face to his and kissed her deeply, never letting her go.
