::Crohn's Disease::

Listening to: nothing
Feeling: saucy
I was in the hospital from Monday, July 19 to Monday July 26 for my stomach. Wow...I have Crohn's Disease. For those who want a follow up of it, I suggest looking it up online. The hospital stay was great. Let me recap. The first day I got there, I was so dehydrated, tired, sick to my stomach, and could barely walk without pain. I couldn't keep anything down for 2 days so I went to the hospital. My doctor decided to admit me that day (which was wonderful) and get me immediate medical attention. So I get to my room and people start coming in to get blood samples and what not. So they're doing the blood thing and my veins are so small and roll around that it really was quite painful to have needles being shoved up the arm. Because I was so dehydrated, my veins would immediately collapse when they would try to inject any fluids in me for the IV treatment. I had a tube shoved up my nose and down my throat to my stomach the second day I was there. They pumped my stomach for 2 days (which really sucked). I couldn't eat or drink anything. They gave me a sponge to dip in water and wet my mouth with, that's it. So, I'm on that for 2 days, they pull it out the 4th day I'm there and put me on a clear liquid diet, water, juice, jello....broth. I was so happy when I could finally put something in my mouth. Then I was moved up to a full liquid diet, which then I could eat oatmeal, cream of wheat, and more broth... Then they saw I could handle it so the next day I had my first solid food meal and it was parmesan chicken for lunch (yum). I actually have a PICC Line still in my arm, just for emergencies if I get another flare-up, they have an open port to my veins. That's fun. I'm tired of typing.
