Teen set 1991

This ones for you dolefulutter. She wasn't scared of what was hiding in the dark. Her skeleton glowed in the dark; her bones were a lime green color throbbing with heat as she had spent the entire day in the sun tanning in hopes of achieving that copper tone complexion. Outside, Sam, with his straw hat in the passenger seat kept the radio tuned in on static as it was past 3 AM and no sane DJ would be spinning tracks at this hour in the south. She was watching him through the door that cast no light but the one coming from her staring eyes. His lips were vibrating with the hum of the car and he hugged an envelope that was pressed tightly against his chest. His eyes wide, his head laid back over the headrest, craning his neck at such an odd angle it appeared broken. His arms seemed small pushed up against his chest clutching the envelope. She feared he might really be dead and that she might be witnessing his last breathes but she shivered that nervous feeling off. Her glasses began to fog up and her bangs parted ways across her face as she stepped back into the dark to hide her face, her jack-a-lantern smile. The screen door slammed shut and the noise made Sam jump out of his seat as if he was awoken from a deep coma. "Penny, is that you?" He stammered. Nothing but the sight of the door and the rust around the edges was there. He threw the envelope beside him and it toppled over the straw hat he had forgotten all about. From the window Penny saw the car door open and then close and a figure begun to creep towards the door but it wasn't Sam, there was someone following him. Under the influence of alcohol Sam was stumbling towards the door, he was going to put that girl in her place for watching him as he unraveled after a hard days work. The figure behind him inched closer and closer and extended a hand, resting it on his shoulder. -Chris.
