Tammy Period 5 Who Am I? I can still remember the day as if it were yesterday. The warm summer air contained a scent that brought me back to so many summers from the past and reminded me of all the fun times I've had. As I approached the building I noticed lots of very beautiful and colorful flowers that filled me with happiness. I could have stayed there forever, but I knew I had to go inside. I stepped toward the doors and they slid open. I became dizzy and wanted to turn around and run out and never return, but instead I continued to walk. The smell made my stomach turn. I don't remember walking through the halls and into the elevator. Somehow my feet just took me there. The loud "ding" of the elevator woke me from my daze, and I proceded down the hall. I came to a stop at an open door with a name tag next to it. As i walked into the room bright colors and fresh flowers flooded my vision. Balloons floated aimlessly and read "Get Well Soon!" For a moment I was happy again, and then my eyes met the bed and the person in it. An icy chill ran up my spine and froze me in place. My feet and legs slowley floated towards the bed. I looked down at her. Her eyes were open, she seemed to be in there, but there was no one. It was as if she were sleeping with her eyes wide open. Thoughts exploded in my head. I kept asking myself why this happened. I kept questioning the reality of the situation. Tears consumed my eyes but I didn't allow them to fall, because I knew I had to be strong. I knew she needed me to be strong for her. For about 20 minutes I sat there at her bedside. I made my way back down the halls and into the elevator. I walked out the automatic doors and took a deep breath. The warm summer air contained a scent that brought me back to so many summers in the past and reminded me of how many more fun times I'd have in the future.
