I've Had Better Days

Listening to: Ambience
Feeling: congested
Oh dear Lord ... it's been too long. I'm seriously contemplating not having a diary anymore considering I never have time for it/forget I even have one. For those out there with inquiring minds - I now have 3 jobs, go to school, and have no time for a social life. I've switched my major to Political Science without my parents' consent and they'll probably disown me, but what's the point on pursuing a career that makes you so insanely miserable? I now work as a light tech/merchant/roadie for the kick ass rock group Bad Kitty. You can hear us on satellite radio. The album is Out of the Bag; check it out. I've sort of started a design shop with the tee-shirts I put together using one of their shirts, a pair of scissors, some thread and fishnets. Well, Jeff likes it. Anyway, yeah, I'm alive. I have mono, bronchitis, and sinusitis all at once, but I'm still here and this weekend I'm judging the Battle of the Bands at the Wildcat Saloon. So far, we've had two bands just ... not show up. Very unprofessional, so naturally, they won't make it to the finals. There's this guy in band at KWC, Logan, who plays drums for Cleansing Fire - I see him around campus a LOT (because I practically live in the fine arts building), and I meant to tell him before I left Thursday night that his band had made it to finals, but I didn't see him. Oh well, I'm sure Jeff called. So far, every opening band has pretty much ... well ... sucked. Unprofessional, yes, and sounding like shit. I was lenient when I offered some scores considering there weren't many people there. A few of the bands had a great following. A couple of the bands just ... acted like they didn't want to be there. Tonight, Ambience, Failing Gravity, LTC, and Diamond are playing ... oh, this is going to be a tough one. Tonight's supposed to kick ass. I hope so. I've been in a pretty shitty mood all day. Unless someone blows me away, like, totally (like Ambience did the first time I saw them play), then no one's getting anything higher than a 5 out of 10 ... and that's saying a lot, considering how ... considerate I am. I give people points just for trying, man. But if I just outright think they suck ... then they fucking suck and their score will reflect that ... I don't care what the other two judges say - though we seem to have been in some mutual agreements the last couple of nights. Next weekend, however, I will not be judging, but running lights instead - HUZZAH. My light show mixed with Cali's sound system - holy fucking hell, those finalists won't know what hit them. Booyah. Now I need to get back to work before Kevin realizes I'm not actually working. Later Days. Spiffy
