Gift-giving Dilemma

Feeling: merry
Seth was jealous of my bear. Oh, but not anymore. See, I just saw him. I know he's been having a shit week, so I decided to give him his gift a little early this year. Yup, went to Target yesterday and got him a - you guessed it. The LAST non-talking, normal-sized Wish Bear in stock. Got a five-minute hug out of it. Was nice. I just hope he doesn't use it for a pillow while he's taking his final. That thing was a BITCH to get out of the fucking box, though. You know, Spencers had Wish Bears. *nods* Unfortunately, they cost, like, $16.99 ... where as the one I got Seth was the EXACT SAME ONE, only at Target for $8.99. Man. Can you say "rip off?" Sure, I knew you could. I was going to get him the Key to Hell, you know, from the Sandman comics, but when I saw him eying my Wish Bear, I knew what I had to do. Ah, well. Maybe for his birthday I'll get him the Key to Hell. Got Darren's present ... from Spencer's, though. It was expensive - well, for what it is. You see, he LOVES Tolkien. I mean, I love Tolkien, too, but not as much as him. Last year, I got him Choke by Chuck Palanuik, but the year before that, I got him the Tolkien Beastiary - he got me the box set of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. I thought about this years, getting him The Silmarillion - but I can't find it. Can you believe that? So I went to Spencer's and got him ... Wait for it ... Yes. The One Ring. I got him the mother fucking ring. Gold-plated, with the dark Elvish engraved around it. Came with a chain so he can wear it around his neck - and a light-up stand. Oh, I think he's going to like this one. Wonder what he's getting me. You know, I'd really LOVE to have The White Album on CD. My cassette's just about shot - and I can't really listen to it in the car, either, considering I don't have a tape deck. Oh, some new, kickass silver headphones like the ones at the station would totally rock my ass. Sad thing is ... that's ... really all I want for Christmas/Solstice this year. I mean, I got my Wish Bear, I got the plaid Chuck Taylors - I couldn't really ask for more. The trouble is this year, that I'm as difficult to shop for as my DAD. Dad's fucking hard to shop for. I mean, Mom was easy - she wanted Pirates of the Carribean, that's what I got her. Got Darren the One Ring. Josh is getting pink Chuck Taylors. Meredith will be getting something Hello Kitty - because she's fucking obsessed ... but my DAD?! Better off just getting him a gift certificate or card to wherever. Any ideas? He's a teacher. He likes to fish. Last year, I got him a book - it was a book he introduced me to, you know, when I was in high school, because it was his favorite book back then. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. Still one of my favorite books. But that was last year. This year ... I'm just clueless. Ideas would be greeeeeaaaaaaatttt!!!! And deeply appreciated. I'm off to hunt for more pics to put up and think about what the fuck to get my dad ... oh yeah, and to study for my Ed Psych final. More later. _________________________________________________ Might be good if I include a smiling picture ... right? Here ... oh, look! Sunlight. And yes, that is a cross necklace around my neck ... along with a St. Michael medal - and you can't see it, but under my collar is a pentacle and a Chinese ball-bell of Strength. I'm well-rounded. Take that however you like. 10 days until Solstice! I'm so growing my hair back out again. I miss it. I grew it out to my waist, and then whopped it off to give to Locks of Love. Yeah ... I miss it.

Awesome!!! That's a great picture.I love smiling pictures.I wrote a little bit of stuff to you in my last entry about my topless photo.Hopefully that story about me at the end doesn't make you think I'm some psycho.I just think it's a great story and I love the totally messed up shit that happens to me every once in a great while. That might have just been the most intense moment of my life considering I could of been shot like 50 times. :) BYE!!
I forgot something. Speaking about your dad and his love for fishing reminds me so much of my dad. That's all my dad really does for fun. I have a picture I'll try to post later tonight of me holding a fish for him when I was like 3. It's one of my all time favorite pictures and reminds me of all the great times I had with him when I was just a wee little lad. :)
