#31The Dance

Listening to: t.v.
Feeling: whatever
THE DANCE At our school cafeteria The theme was Safari, our hearts both broken, Silence was words spoken. Across the room I saw you, Standing there with all your buds, Happy as can be, with smiles covering your face, Only to see another girl on your trace. Time is almost gone, and the dance is almost over, I finally find courage and ask you for a dance, With a shrug of your shoulders you say yes, With all my heart I hope for the best. Pictures of joy run through my mind, As you lead me like we were to be. There we are in the middle of the floor, You holding me like you'd done before. My head propted on your chest Listening to the soothing beat, Once more my heart began to melt Only to feel you messing with my belt. With our eyes closed and minds in aww, Memories were painted all around us. Time stood still as smiles were born, It felt as if our hearts hadn't been torn. Captured in this moment, I was invincable, Dreams no longer shattered, love no longer lost. The music had stopped and there I was, faced with the truth, it was all just a buzz. Pinching myself, trying to awake from this nightmare, Unable to move, I'm breathless. With fear and pain my eyes rapidly became soakened realizing my heart was still broken.
